...with my joining the group? I'm not sure. I spent nearly 13 years of my working life with Digital Equipment Corp. (NL subsidiary), in the field, as support engineer and presales consultant. I left in 1997, when the Compaq takeover was announced but not yet in effect.
Since then, I've been working with the independent VX Company in the Netherlands. Yes, VX is short for VAX. When the company was founded in 1988, the VAX 8000 was the DEC flagship. VX Company spent the first 15 years of its existence as "VX8000", as a Digital partner sotware house.
We still maintain VMS applications, and are sent all over the world by HP to do Rdb and ACMS training. However, the VMS activities are going to end some day, so I will prepare myself for hobbyist status, this forum being a first step.
malmberg December 12 2017 HPE only makes the most current version of OpenVMS Alpha / IA64 /VAX available to hobbyists. When I had access to the Alliance 1 program it was the same. No public downloads are allowed by HPE.

DoeveR August 07 2017 Where can I find the write up on running VMS 6.1 using the simh emulator?
