I am looking for the ECU disk necessary to setup EISA boards within an Alphaserver 1000A (4/233). I found the location it use to be stored at in the HP/Compaq FTP download server but, due to royalties, they don't offer the software anymore.

I also found that the HP/Compaq part number is QC-01YAA-HC.

Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

many apologies.

i inherited my alphaserver 100a 5/300

i checked.
the only 2 diskettes i have are

AK-QF1GC-CA
ECU Diskette v1.9 DEC Alpha for use in configuration of systems to be used with Windows NT.

and

AK-Q2CRJ-CA
ECU Diskette v1.9 DEC Alpha for use in configuration of systems to be used with OpenVMS and Digital UNIX.

whats more amusing is i'm actually after a DCU disk that enables me to play around with the DAC960 raid card that was in the machine that i inherited, but the disk got thrown away 2 weeks after i got the machine.

those disks may be of interest. but i have no idea if i can copy them.

regards

Dear Dave,

I also have a DAC960 running in my Alphaserver.

It was a while ago but I downloaded the firmware and configuration utilities I think from the hp/Compaq site. I followed the instructions
and created a floppy that can be used from the ARC console to configure SWXCR for the DAC960.

I'll have a look to see if I can find a link for you, otherwise I have the disk and there must be an easy way of getting a copy to you.

Kind Regards,
Russell

Hi Dave,

I think this could be just the link you want - downloads of the firmware/utilities and manuals too!!

I hope it helps.

No more VAX hobbyist licenses. Community licenses for Alpha/IA64/X86_64 VMS Software Inc. Commercial VMS software licenses for VAX available from HPE.

Just re-visiting.. No more hobbyist licenses? Is that from vmssoftware.com, no 'community' licenses?

I recall that the disks failed on the public access VMS systems that included Fafner

Anyone know what happened to FAFNER.DYNDS.ORG? I had a hobbyist account here but can longer access the site.

At one time, didn't this web site have a job board? I would love to use my legacy skills one last time in my career.

New Hobbyist PAKs for VAX/VMS are no longer available according to reports. Only commercial licenses are reported to be for sale from HPE

See the forum about licensing. Don't know if HPE hobby licenses still being issued. Commercial licenses still being sold.

Eisner, which is currently being moved, got an SSH update and the keys were updated to more modern encryption standards.
