Welcome to the portal for OpenVMS hobbyist computing.
This portal is run by volunteers on their own time.
Unfortunately this notice is needed:
All online forums are now under heavy attack by "Link spammers" who join just to get links to their web sites higher ranked on search engines. These range from those that are obvious to some that try to pretend that they are legitimate posters by posting either an introductory message or a question that appears to be from someone wanting to learn what this forum is about.
These spammers stand out because they have URLs in the message or the footers that have nothing to do with this forum and are missing any content that would indicate that they have any idea about what this hobby is about, even though some have figured out it has something to do with computers and programming.
If you post a message that appears to be only for advertising a URL, especially if you have never been seen posting VMS related content, then it will be treated as spam as deleted with out any notice other than this. At a minimum, any URL that is unrelated to this hobby is likely to be removed with out prior notice.
HP has also indicated that they do not want any public download sites for their software other than
their own. Any links to live download sites for HP copyrighted material that is not 100% public licensed will be removed.
And any links or posts about how to defeat HP licensing software will also be removed.
When posting your first message, please make sure it is on topic for this forum and includes keywords that indicate that you know what this forum is for.
We do want to encourage participation in this forum and this hobby, and we are willing to help at all skill levels for those that actually want to participate and are able to learn.
If you need software that is not available for download from HP, ask giving your location and someone may be able to help outside of this forum.
If you have software that you want to help out a hobbyist, HP has indicated that they do not care how the hobbyist get their software as long a public download site is not used, so you can arrange
a transfer.
