Having put my first post on the FreeAXP forum I thought, how rude...I haven't done my introduction!
I'm an aging ex-OpenVMS system manager, who, after a good few years doing other things, is now back in a system admin role for a single Alpha....that has died over the Christmas period, possibly due to too much turkey!
As such I am looking at these new-fangled emulation packages as a possible way of continuing to run a bespoke application.
I suspect I may be asking a few questions as my knowledge of OpenVMS is somewhat rusty! Previously I have managed multiple Vaxes and Alphas, standalone and clustered, done operating system upgrades, hardware installations, and system performance tuning....however this knowledge appears to have been filed at the back of my brain for too long.....we shall see how long I last!
malmberg December 12 2017 HPE only makes the most current version of OpenVMS Alpha / IA64 /VAX available to hobbyists. When I had access to the Alliance 1 program it was the same. No public downloads are allowed by HPE.

malmberg September 10 2017 https://sourceforge.net/p /vms-ports/wiki/VMSInstal lation/ For the most part just use VMS 6.1 media instead of 7.3. But why run the older release?
DoeveR August 07 2017 Where can I find the write up on running VMS 6.1 using the simh emulator?
