My name is Tim Stark.

I first encountered OpenVMS, Ultrix and TOPS-10 system in 1985 when I entered Gallaudet University. I was taught for computer programming for my computer science major on VMS systems. I wrote a few programs for graphics on VT125 or VT240 terminal, chat program for RELAY server on BITNET and others. I graduated from Gallaudet in 1990. I do not have access to VMS systems anymore after my graduation until 2000s....

I learned about OpenVMS hobbyist program in 2000s. I wrote my first PDP-10 emulator and successfully loaded and run TOPS-10 operating system. Later I wrote VAX emulator for running OpenVMS and Ultrix operating system. I joined OpenVMS Hobbyist program.

I know that name. Hello back from Fort Worth, TX. As you can see, things are a bit quiet here.

I first encountered DEC in the summer of '77. It was in the form of a PDP-11/70 and RSTS/E V6B. VAX/VMS came around in the fall of 1981 when the college I was going to got a VAX-11/780. It was VMS V2.1 (I think) Once out of school (I did not graduate) I was working with VAX/VMS and OpenVMS mostly solid until December of 2002. Since then I've been an Oracle DBA on various Linux/Unix/Windows system.

No more VAX hobbyist licenses. Community licenses for Alpha/IA64/X86_64 VMS Software Inc. Commercial VMS software licenses for VAX available from HPE.

Just re-visiting.. No more hobbyist licenses? Is that from vmssoftware.com, no 'community' licenses?

I recall that the disks failed on the public access VMS systems that included Fafner

Anyone know what happened to FAFNER.DYNDS.ORG? I had a hobbyist account here but can longer access the site.

At one time, didn't this web site have a job board? I would love to use my legacy skills one last time in my career.

New Hobbyist PAKs for VAX/VMS are no longer available according to reports. Only commercial licenses are reported to be for sale from HPE

Eisner, which is currently being moved, got an SSH update and the keys were updated to more modern encryption standards.
