I'm new to VMS/Alpha, after having stumbled on it rather accidentally when I was given a retired Alphaserver 1000A with VMS 7.3-1, an array of documentation, and a VT-420 terminal. My expertise was previously limited primarily to x86/Windows sytems, with a little bit of branching out into Linux.
So far the system has intrigued me, and I've found it to be surprisingly intuitive in many regards. Unfortunately though, as is often the case when first learning something, I find myself in over my head on certain aspects.
I'm glad I found this community. Hopefully with help here, I can get back on track and continue learning this wonderful system.
malmberg December 12 2017 HPE only makes the most current version of OpenVMS Alpha / IA64 /VAX available to hobbyists. When I had access to the Alliance 1 program it was the same. No public downloads are allowed by HPE.
