Worked in Digital Ayr plant from 1977 until Compaq shut it. Left HP in Erskine in 2005 for Cardiff. Now working on the OS that is second best to VMS, Linux.
Got a 433au workstation with a micky mouse web site using hobbyist kit and the ECR6 DECthreads http server.

I've got a 433au too :-)

What is the ECR6 http server? I have heard of the OSU one.
You may wish to look at WASD which is still actively developed and good for smaller VMS systems.

A lot of people know it as the OSU HTTPD Server originated by David Jones. It's the one I first used, but I've migrated to WASD (Mark Davis, Australia) and Apache. SSL works better than with OSU. Several of my scripts still use the OSU htbin interface!.

There's some good documentation on the different OpenVMS Web Servers in "OpenVMS with Apache, OSU, and WASD" by Alan Winston.

Oh, That HTTPD server. :-)
It was fine back in its day but has not seen any development for years.

No more VAX hobbyist licenses. Community licenses for Alpha/IA64/X86_64 VMS Software Inc. Commercial VMS software licenses for VAX available from HPE.

Just re-visiting.. No more hobbyist licenses? Is that from vmssoftware.com, no 'community' licenses?

I recall that the disks failed on the public access VMS systems that included Fafner

Anyone know what happened to FAFNER.DYNDS.ORG? I had a hobbyist account here but can longer access the site.

At one time, didn't this web site have a job board? I would love to use my legacy skills one last time in my career.

New Hobbyist PAKs for VAX/VMS are no longer available according to reports. Only commercial licenses are reported to be for sale from HPE

Eisner, which is currently being moved, got an SSH update and the keys were updated to more modern encryption standards.
