Is there any free/hobbyist Alpha emulator out there that runs under Linux either 32 or 64 bit? The other thing is that it should allow a decent amount of memory. The typical 128MB doesn't cut it when playing with databases and other modern software.

There is one that is described as a work in progress. A search engine should easily come up with a link to it. It is my understanding that it can at least boot VMS.

I also saw a report of a commercial product that was in Beta, but I have not been tracking that.

Hi!

Interesting to look at AlphaVM-free (http://emuvm.com/). It's up to 512Mb RAM to emulate (http://emuvm.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=12&Itemid=8).

I've been playing around with FreeAXP and I have a small Alpha VM running in that. If you haven't already checked that out it may do what you need.

Turns out I had an account here, it still was set to my location a decade ago, so hey, I'm back after over a decade!

Hi all, haven't been here in years. Good to see it is all there still. I'm looking around at the forum to stop/start msipcap - 'could not be stopped' - for now. I'll shutdown FreeA

Eisner was upgraded to the current Multinet Release. As part of that a new host key was generated. The old key was incompatible with newer Linux.

ssh to eisner is now giving (on linux) "WARNING: REMOTE HOST IDENTIFICATION HAS CHANGED!" , Has the server key in fact changed ?
