A few weeks ago I registered an OpenVMS Alpha license and ordered a hobbyist kit in the mail. Yesterday I used it to install OpenVMS on my Alphastation. It's asking me to register a product authorization key, but I have absolutely no idea where this key is supposed to be, or when I was supposed to have received it. Is it on the CD somewhere? Did it appear in my browser when I registered for the license? Was it supposed to be e-mailed to me? In any case, I effectively don't have a PAK. Where's it supposed to be?
License keys are e-mailed back to you, usually very quickly. I applied for one on Thursday and they came back the same day.
If you had only just recently joined Encompass or another user group, then there may have been a slight delay, but I think your membership has to have already been processed before you can even submit the license application form. Otherwise it just bounces you back out saying you are not recognized.
malmberg December 12 2017 HPE only makes the most current version of OpenVMS Alpha / IA64 /VAX available to hobbyists.
When I had access to the Alliance 1 program it was the same. No public downloads are allowed by HPE.

malmberg September 10 2017 https://sourceforge.net/p /vms-ports/wiki/VMSInstal lation/ For the most part just use VMS 6.1 media instead of 7.3. But why run the older release?
