I registered with Encompass more than a week ago and received my user number, but I cannot get my license becouse it keep saying my user number is not in the database. What can I do in order to get my license?
The OpenVMS Hobbyist Program is operated as a volunteer effort, and is not an integral part of any single HP/etc User organization. I do coordinate with many of them, some more frequently that others. The US, UK, and Germany are the three most active organizations, with the Encompass/ConnectHQ generally sending me updates every 1-2 weeks. UK and Germany a little more infrequent than that.
The OpenVMS Hobbyist Program runs it's own "membership" database, which is an aggregate of all these organizations, and depends upon updates from the participating Chapters. This is a synergistic approach, since they get offer Hobbyist availability as a benefit, and they validate the people are real individuals for me.
malmberg December 12 2017 HPE only makes the most current version of OpenVMS Alpha / IA64 /VAX available to hobbyists. When I had access to the Alliance 1 program it was the same. No public downloads are allowed by HPE.
