Hi all,

I am new to this community and have joined as a way of learning the OpenVMS operating system.

I have downloaded and installed Personal Alpha, have purchased and am awaiting delivery of an Alpha Media kit, and have joined www.connect-community.org as a way of obtaining a hobbyist license.

My question follows, is the www.connect-community.org membership still a valid membership number? I know it can take a while to update the databases, but it has been a couple of weeks so thought I would just ask.

Many thanks for everyone's great work.

Cheers,

Adam

yes, guest membership should be fine. The people who run connect-community.org are doing some changes and that work has lead to some delays.

No more VAX hobbyist licenses. Community licenses for Alpha/IA64/X86_64 VMS Software Inc. Commercial VMS software licenses for VAX available from HPE.

Just re-visiting.. No more hobbyist licenses? Is that from vmssoftware.com, no 'community' licenses?

I recall that the disks failed on the public access VMS systems that included Fafner

Anyone know what happened to FAFNER.DYNDS.ORG? I had a hobbyist account here but can longer access the site.

At one time, didn't this web site have a job board? I would love to use my legacy skills one last time in my career.

New Hobbyist PAKs for VAX/VMS are no longer available according to reports. Only commercial licenses are reported to be for sale from HPE

See the forum about licensing. Don't know if HPE hobby licenses still being issued. Commercial licenses still being sold.

Eisner, which is currently being moved, got an SSH update and the keys were updated to more modern encryption standards.
