I have a colocated AlphaServer DS25 that has two 1 GHz processors. Recently I came across two 1.25 GHz processor cards from an ES45. They have twice the cache (16 megs apiece instead of 8 megs) in addition to having a 20% faster clock.
I tried these in my DS25, but after the initial power up, the system's RMC shut down the system because it didn't detect the CPU fans. I tried populating the SPU fan headers on the cards and connecting fans from the DS25's cards, but the RMC still didn't detect them, so I'm guessing some circuitry is missing.
Does anyone have access to hardware documentation for these CPU cards so that I can see what's missing and hopefully add it myself?
