@pfau2 - so people may move to emulated vax/alpha?
pfau2 on July 24 2013 07:08
yes, vms is more stable than anything else out there, but if there is no hardware upgrade path we need to move to a platform that has one

In general the current compilers will work on older versions of VMS.
malmberg on May 11 2013 08:23
Is this for Hobby use or commercial use?
malmberg on April 16 2013 02:46
Hobbyist one is looking into what can be done to better block the spammers with out impacting the legitimate users.

there should be a limit on how many posts you can make until we have some reason to believe you're not a spammer
somersdave on April 12 2013 21:57
Can't some limit be put on posts per hour or something? These cretinous spamers seem determined to spoil the site (for some reason)

My rx2620 will be scrapped by the end of Friday this week (see thread 2041/post 6746).

port VMS, hand over the code or jumpstart FreeVMS.
eMGee on February 13 2013 12:59
Okay, I will. In fact, I have lots of pictures to potentially share, also detailed pictures of a mint-condition DS15 (that I recently sold). Well, that is, if anyone is interested. Feel free to PM
HobbyistOne on February 06 2013 04:59
I don't recall seeing any photo submissions from eMGee. Could you post them again?
eMGee on February 01 2013 02:38
Does anyone still care to update the “gallery”? I think I sent a picture many months ago (by now), but nothing happened. Maybe it's time for a new, or additional, VMS web community?
vaxpert on January 29 2013 08:07
I'm looking for COBOL and BASIC for AXP 7.3. Any ideas?

No more VAX hobbyist licenses. Community licenses for Alpha/IA64/X86_64 VMS Software Inc. Commercial VMS software licenses for VAX available from HPE.

Just re-visiting.. No more hobbyist licenses? Is that from vmssoftware.com, no 'community' licenses?

At one time, didn't this web site have a job board? I would love to use my legacy skills one last time in my career.

New Hobbyist PAKs for VAX/VMS are no longer available according to reports. Only commercial licenses are reported to be for sale from HPE

Eisner, which is currently being moved, got an SSH update and the keys were updated to more modern encryption standards.
