I run Linux and need to get my license onto the simulated VAX. How? Trying to paste it in as my License email says gives the dreaded "data overrun" error. |

The serial console is not the best for bulk transfers.
You need to paste just a little bit at a time or just type in one license key at a time.
Get the VAX/VMS or OpenVMS key in first, and then the UCX for TCP/IP installed.
At that point you can setup TCP/IP for telnet access into the system, and FTP in order to transfer the file. The file should be transferred as ASCII.
Once you get one system setup, you can setup a VMSCLUSTER and or DECNET IV to install setup additional nodes. |

Assuming that the licensing continues the best option is to set a reminder before licenses expire and update via the running licenses over FTP or such like.
Not that I generally follow my own advice you understand |
