Does anyone know where I can find the layered products for OpenVMS Alpha 8.3. 8.4 has too many issues that will probably never be fixed for hobbyists. |

I am running 8.4 on both Alpha and IA64. It is my understanding that the hobby media download includes an ECO rollup kit. |

This ECO rollup, how can I find which issues it fixes and where is it on the ISO? |

Either the disk image was remastered with the rollup or there should be an additional file in the download directory.
As I have been downloading images via Alliance One, I do not know which is being done. |

Found the patch bundle and release notes. Does not seem to fix the Xforwarding issue though.
If I'm not mistaken the C Compiler I need for 8.3 can be gotten from 8.4? (trying to compile XV). |

The C compiler is typically built against older VMS shared images so that it can be installed on them. I do not know how far back they are currently going.
Can you open a topic in the "Porting Open Source to OpenVMS" forum about the "Xforwarding" issues you are having?
Also see the vms-ports project on sourceforge. |
