I belive that I have a copy of the disks (will verify tonight). But, this request does raise a few questions. Why this specific version? A V7 variant should be must more stable/supported and easier to acquire.

V6.2 is plenty stable. It is also faster than v7. The TCP/IP components under v6 are not so good, but adequate for basic IP functionality. Life after DECnet Phase IV was all downhill anyway |

What makes V6.2 faster than V7?
Is this a Decnet IV/DECnet V issue?

Just less bloat. Boot a V6 versus a V7 instance on the same hardware and see for yourself. V6 systems are a bit faster in our performance testing as well. The same is true from V7 to V8. V7 is faster. Again, less to the operating system. Adding features has a performance cost. |
