As per the subject, I have an Alphaserver1000A 5/333 that is now surplus to requirements. This is currently located in the UK, on the south coast.

The system on offer has been running V7.3-1 for years, but has now been replaced by an XP1000. Currently sitting (switched off) with V8.3 freshly installed, but no licences. A copy of my V8.3 distribution disk could be included if doing so is legal. You would need to get your own licenses.

This machine does have one known problem. It works fine with Bcache disabled, but just beeps at you if the jumper is removed. While there has to be a performance impact of the Bcache being disabled, I do not notice it in normal use.

Alphaserver 1000A 5/333, 768 Mb Memory,
PBXGA-AA/AN (ZLXp 21030),
DE500-AA,
2xSWXD3-WG (RZ28D),
2xRZ29B-VW.
1xRRD45
1xTLZ07 <<< I have never used this, I don't know if it works...!

I also have some disks I want to sell, which could be used to replace the A1000a internal drives if someone wanted them enough..
1xRZ1EA-VW (18.2Gsmiley
2XRZ1EF-VW (18.2Gsmiley
1X FAULTY RZ1EA-VW, case OK, needs new drive.

Finally, some more serious stuff that I would prefer to sell as a single item.
( BA356-JD containing 1XBA35X-HH 180W PSU. )
( BA35X-FA Ultrascsi personality module with BN38C-02 cable. )
( 6xRZ1FC-VW, 36.4Gb, currently in the BA356 )

Any offers ? john -at- travell -dot- uk -dot- net

No takers (yet...) Can anyone suggest an another place that hobbyists who do not look in here may watch ?
I am happy to wait a bit longer for a real hobbyist to answer before I offer it to the sharks on Ebay... :-)

No more VAX hobbyist licenses. Community licenses for Alpha/IA64/X86_64 VMS Software Inc. Commercial VMS software licenses for VAX available from HPE.

Just re-visiting.. No more hobbyist licenses? Is that from vmssoftware.com, no 'community' licenses?

I recall that the disks failed on the public access VMS systems that included Fafner

Anyone know what happened to FAFNER.DYNDS.ORG? I had a hobbyist account here but can longer access the site.

At one time, didn't this web site have a job board? I would love to use my legacy skills one last time in my career.

New Hobbyist PAKs for VAX/VMS are no longer available according to reports. Only commercial licenses are reported to be for sale from HPE

See the forum about licensing. Don't know if HPE hobby licenses still being issued. Commercial licenses still being sold.

Eisner, which is currently being moved, got an SSH update and the keys were updated to more modern encryption standards.
