I'm unable to find my CPU type in the list for the alpha base license.
I have an AlphaServer ES47.

Also where do I look to get the CPU serial number? Hopefuly it isn't on the bottom of the machine (its quite heavy).

$SHOW CPU/FULL should show you the S/N, if the system is up and running.

I'm not sure the site maintainers anticipated anyone using an ES47 as a hobbyist platform. Perhaps there is an "other" cpu type?

Thank you for pointing me in the correct direction for finding the CPU serial number. After looking through the exhaustive list of CPU types, I did find "other" in the form of "unlisted server"

BTW - I'm envious of your good fortune to own an ES47, but I wouldn't want to pay your power bill...

Do I need to request multiple base and layered product license paks?
Has anyone successfully gotten the Freeaxp to become a cluster?

No more VAX hobbyist licenses. Community licenses for Alpha/IA64/X86_64 VMS Software Inc. Commercial VMS software licenses for VAX available from HPE.

Just re-visiting.. No more hobbyist licenses? Is that from vmssoftware.com, no 'community' licenses?

I recall that the disks failed on the public access VMS systems that included Fafner

Anyone know what happened to FAFNER.DYNDS.ORG? I had a hobbyist account here but can longer access the site.

At one time, didn't this web site have a job board? I would love to use my legacy skills one last time in my career.

New Hobbyist PAKs for VAX/VMS are no longer available according to reports. Only commercial licenses are reported to be for sale from HPE

See the forum about licensing. Don't know if HPE hobby licenses still being issued. Commercial licenses still being sold.

Eisner, which is currently being moved, got an SSH update and the keys were updated to more modern encryption standards.
