Altivo, thank you for your reply. I am wondering if there's any language that can't be implemented under OpenVMS - Sinclair ZX81 BASIC, perhaps? Did anyone mention FORTH?
Altivo on March 12 2009 06:56
Arexx was cool, but it was very much the same as IBM mainframe REXX. There's an open source interpreter now called "Regina" that might be portable to OpenVMS...
lexthehex on March 11 2009 16:12
Correction to my comment: ARexx was on the Amiga, hence the name!
lexthehex on March 11 2009 15:45
P.S. Another language that I used on the Amiga, ages ago: ARexx. I wish it had been more popular as it was very versatile.

I am installing OpenVMS on an Hx4700 iPAQ - bit slow but amusing. It's swapping to a file on a CF card, so I expect that'll croak in a few days, at this rate.

i once wrote a mumps program to track statistics for a fantasy football league. i don't remember if i used dsm or uc-davis micromumps

dibol.... in 10 years of working in software services i think i ran across one customer that was using dibol...
Wayne on March 10 2009 15:49
Dibol and DSM Digital Standard Mumps should be included in the list. I wonder how many programmers are left that can use those languages.
Semper VMS on March 06 2009 01:13
I can't believe that DCL is not in the poll! - If it can't be programmed in DCL, it's not worth programming.
barrabyte on February 24 2009 16:29
Dibol not on the favourite language poll ?

the site owner is aware of the domain problem and is working on it.
GerryB on February 08 2009 13:00
Yes, I noticed that. I haven't seen my pic yet. Wonder if it uploaded OK? Admins?
pfau on February 08 2009 06:21
someone forget to renew the site's domain name? accessing the site by name dumps you at godaddy
GerryB on February 06 2009 16:35
As an amateur locksmith my interest in locks and keys is substantial. Enjoy the pic of some of my DEC keys.

Hello verybody. In France, where can I get Open VMS?
imiller on January 29 2009 06:20
There was a version of FORTH for VAX/VMS... What about SCAN ? It was ported to Alpha.

HPE only makes the most current version of OpenVMS Alpha / IA64 /VAX available to hobbyists. When I had access to the Alliance 1 program it was the same. No public downloads are allowed by HPE.
